Heritage of Bristol Oilskin & Overall Company

In 1936 in the centre of Bristol, Reginald Fox ventured to launch Bristol Oilskin & Overall Company selling protective clothing to industrial customers. The company moved steadily forward until war arrived when they were bombed out twice. Despite this and the erratic supply situation afterwards ,progress was good and on a sound footing, enabling expansion to be accommodated as the grand years of the 50's, 60's and 70's were experienced . Two manufacturing factories were running and a name for quality and service evolved.

From the late 80's onwards the supply scene changed with the arrival of goods from the far east and the move for volume business to shift to those countries. A change of strategy was needed if you were to survive and so Bristol Oilskin became a name for quality workwear and waterproof clothing , with in-house design and manufacture, providing for individual application and company image , backed by old fashion service and pride of product.

And so to tomorrow in an ever changing world.
